A former Elizabethan coaching inn, The Great House combines historic charm with luxurious contemporary design. The Lodge is our light-filled event space, surrounded by its own private terrace overlooking lawns down to the river. Licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 100 guests and space for up to 200 guests in the evening, you can design your day to flow naturally through a variety of beautiful settings.

We got married in November and were looking for a cosy and darkly romantic atmosphere which matched perfectly with The Great House! It is a former tudor coaching in right on the riverside and blends new and old effortlessly, and the fog rolling off the river in the morning of our wedding added to the ambience, as well as being married by the fireplace. The food was exquisite.
We got married in August. The venue is just stunning! Kate and her team were incredible on the day. They helped everything run super smoothly without any hiccups. We couldn’t be happier with how the day turned out.
